Echoes of Pine

About us

Our organization has a long-standing commitment to community engagement and civic participation through various programs and initiatives aimed at empowering underserved communities, particularly African American youth and families in Cambridge, Maryland. Our work focuses on promoting cultural pride, education, and social equity through a variety of avenues, including community organizing, public education, outreach, and advocacy.

Did you know?

Pine Street was once known as Cambridge’s own “Black Wall Street,” home to more than 80 thriving Black-owned businesses stretching from the north to the south end of the street. These businesses formed the economic and cultural backbone of the Black community, offering everything from professional services to nightlife and entertainment. After sunset, Pine Street came alive, becoming a vibrant hub where music, commerce, and community filled the streets.
