Providing Everything You Need
I.K.E. Inspire Knowledge & Empower
Mentor and Leadership
Program
I.K.E program is designed to help teens realize their fullest potential and how to transition them into tomorrow’s leaders and responsible citizens.
We focus on today’s middle school students because we have found that most programs in our area target elementary school students, especially during the summer when school is out. I.K.E. program offiers team building, leadership, mentorship to help identify personal skills and interests, setting goals and creating a road map to achieving goals. Fields trips are offered to expose them to higher institutions of learning, technology centers, businesses, and historical art and cultural sites.
Learn to play African Drums
Students will learn to play traditional rhythms from Guinea West Africa, played on the Djembe to perform at the Groove City Culture Fest.

Emphasis will be placed on how drumming can benefit us in a multitude of ways, from stress reduction, improved focus, mindfulness, hand-eye coordination, and creating unity within a group.

Students will learn the history, cultural significance and traditions of the music and its people. The drums are truly the call to community: They bring people together and energize and inspire us.
